Time with my Grandparents

Spring Break is here and Reese & I went to see my Mamaw & Grandad (my Dad's parents) who live in Dallas. They are both 81 and are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary in June! I am so blessed to have such great grandparents who have shared with me and taught me so much in my life! It was so good to be with them and we all had such a great time.
My Mamaw is the World's Greatest Cook so I took advantage and tried to take it all in so I can cook just like her. I have been Craving home cooked meals but don't necessarily want to cook, myself, so it was a big treat to get such fabulous meals while with them! Mamaw had mentioned Chimichangas a few months ago and ever since then I have been craving them so guess what one of our meals was?!? Yep, she is the Best!!!
I love getting to hear my Grandad's stories. I with I could remember them all and write them down so I'll have them forever. Mamaw and I are thinking we need to record him every time he tells one. Grandad also baked a cobbler that was so yummy - you sure are a great baker Grandad!
All in all, we had such a great time together! Next time I get to go see them it will be even more fun with our new baby boy! I am looking forward to that!

Sleepover

Reese had his first sleepover a few weeks ago. It was a really good experience for all of us because his friend, Ethan, is just the best little guy! He was so delightful and he and Reese are two peas in a pod - they had such a great time!

Picture from the Past

Mom sent this picture to me the other day she had found. It is of my Dad & Reese on Dad's favorite horse, Rocky. Rocky passed away this last year so it is really neat to have some of those memories captured! Dad had Reese out on a horse from the time he was probably 3 months old. He has always loved it! Reese was (& still is) so darn cute - it makes me smile every time I look at this picture!

Baseball Tryouts

Reese had baseball tryouts last night. At the very beginning the ball bounced up and hit him in the lip (they use hard balls this year) and he still got the ball and threw it in. He was holding his mouth and you could hear the crowd's concern. He finished out the tryouts with a bloody and aching mouth. James Allen took him to wash out his mouth and check to make sure all teeth were intact (which, thank the Lord, they all are!)

He was in quite a bit of pain with it all last night but this morning he feels better. His lip, on the other hand, still looks pretty rough. We were kidding him this morning that we bet he will get all the attention from the girls today asking what happened!

He asked if the coaches grade on toughness... if they did he would be #1 on my list from last night!

The Woes of Pregnancy

I have always tried to be a person that doesn't complain. My thought is no one wants to listen to someone's constant complaints. On the other side, I know I am so blessed and should not gripe about the small things in life when others have it so much worse. I truly have never had anything major to even complain about.
My poor, poor husband! He has gotten to hear all my complaints since I've been pregnant. I feel like I am now complaining all the time and he is listening. I also feel for Reese - he gets to hear about my aches and pains when James Allen is not there to hear me.
I am desperately trying to not complain as much but when every single moment you are hurting in some way it is really hard not to! So, I want to let everyone know James Allen has the title of "Best Husband in the World!" for all he puts up with these days and never tells me to hush up!
I'm afraid I've been complaining to him so much and have failed to mention to him that he has received this award! Congratulations and THANK YOU James Allen!
